What is the difference between self-esteem and ego?? The thought has always baffled me..Isnt ego just an upgraded level of self-esteem..or is self esteem an underestimated word for ego??..Self esteem is the pride in oneself or being aware of oneself...But then isnt having pride in oneself against the conventional thoughts on spirituality..Also,if self-esteem is being aware of oneself..its basic step towards spirituality....The dilemma remains..
On the other hand..if ego is being in love with oneself..isnt it the basic necessity for peaceful existence..moreover..as they say..if you dont love your own self, how can you spread love amongst others??..
but then people also say ego kills a person..
Its not the ego..but the manifestation of it which blinds him..he sees nothing of the outside world..and ceases to survive in a social system..
Life always puts you in this dilemma-Ego or self-esteem..which way to go..??

Audience
Recently I had a golden opportunity to attend a concert of Ghazal Maestro Padmabhushan Jagjit Singh..A life time experience for me..
But what was equally an experience of its kind was the Audience of the show..
Looking at the audience..it didnt feel that they had ever heard ghazals before..leave alone Jagjit Singh.. they were applauding at any stage.. whistling all over..
Though not each person in the audience can be included in this..but their number seemed to be much less..or rather not noticeable enough..
The peak was when a lady behind my seat started singing the lines along with Mr.Singh..and that too in the highest pitch of her voice..
I couldnt understand whether i was there to witness her skills(???) in singing or Mr.Singh's golden voice..
I guess people should realize that they are an audience to a performance of a legendary singer and not some antakshri show....
Even i am a singer..but such a behaviour is definitely like showing disrespect to the performer..
This is not just limited to performances of famous singers..but any person performing on the stage should be acknowledged and appreciated..irrespective whether one feels its good or bad..at least any sort of expression should not be shown during the performance.. Because it needs a hell lot of courage to stand there facing unknown people and display your talent..
Just as its the responsibility of the performer to fully entertain his audience..Its equally a responsibility of the audience to give the performer his due respect and appreciation...
(This is my personal opinion..no offense or conflict of interest what so ever)

Random Thought
The biggest mistake in life is when we start believing more on the judgements other people make about us,rather than our own judgements about ourselves..
We have always been taught that its more important what people think of u and not what you think of yourselves..
The moment you start living your life with this principle..your downfall is sure to begin...because people judge you according to their nature, their level of thinking, their attitude towards u..(invariably its jealousy),the preconceived notions about you...So once you rely on these judgements its like self-deprivation..
So..its always advisable to believe first in the reflections of your own self rather than reflections of you in the minds of other people..
